Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, previously known as the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is actively seeking a CT & C-arm Technologist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the assigned scanner(s) to capture images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Your focus will be on delivering scanning services within professional standards and ensuring exceptional customer service. Patients seek answers when visiting our facilities, and you will support them through the process by explaining the steps and addressing any concerns they may have regarding exam procedures. The position is a full-time role with day shifts scheduled from Monday to Friday, with Saturday rotations but no on-call responsibilities. There is also the option for a part-time position (30-39 hours) at 0.8 or 0.9 FTE, with training available for CT as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
- The patient is carefully assessed for any precautions or contradictions specific to the examination being conducted, with the aim of preventing any adverse outcomes or complications
- Preparing patients for imaging scans by elucidating the procedures and ensuring proper positioning for effective body part visualization during the scan
- Undertakes regular and specialized scanning processes on defined body regions to aid doctors in the diagnosis and therapy of patient ailments and injuries with minimal oversight, engaging in verbal communication to support patients during the examination
- Adjusts scan parameters accurately and adjusts them when required, making use of techniques to minimize radiation dose effectively
- Ensures a positive outlook and cultivates strong working connections with radiologists, clients in need of referrals, and fellow team members
- Complying meticulously with physicians' instructions and safety guidelines to safeguard personal health and that of patients and peers
- Maintains the accuracy of patient documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Upholds cleanliness in the work environment to foster a culture of safety for coworkers and patients
- Ensuring adherence to ACR toolkit and accreditation criteria
- Keeps equipment well-maintained and sanitized by conducting routine checks and disinfection procedures
- Guaranteeing adherence to the full scope of HIPAA guidelines and requirements
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Supports in the management of an up-to-date imaging protocol guide and updates to software systems
- Manages the inventory of medical supplies and initiates procurement when required
- Aids in the development of new employees by supplying support and expertise in relevant areas
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- A technologist registered with ARRT, currently maintained and authorized
- Completion of a radiography school that meets the standards set by the American Medical Association (AMA)
- A licensed Radiological Technologist, as required by state regulations, if applicable
- The existing certification for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Competent performance of scanning tasks requires the individual to possess the necessary training and experience
