Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, formerly known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for a CT Technologist to join their team. In this position, you will operate assigned scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. With a focus on patient care, you will deliver top-quality scanning services while maintaining professional standards and providing excellent customer service. As patients come to our centers for answers, you will guide them through the process by clearly explaining each step and addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding the procedures.
This is a PRN/casual position working varying shifts, flexible schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
- Screens patients before the exam to identify any precautions or contraindications associated with the procedure, using two patient identifiers to verify the correct patient and procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for the upcoming imaging procedures, clearly detailing the steps involved and positioning them appropriately to ensure accurate capture of the targeted areas of the body.
- Performs routine and advanced imaging procedures on designated body areas to help physicians diagnose and treat patient illnesses or injuries, with minimal supervision or need for repeat scans. Throughout the procedure, offers continuous patient support by explaining the process and providing reassurance.
- Adjusts scan parameters accurately as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques when necessary to prioritize patient safety.
- Maintains an upbeat attitude and builds strong, collaborative relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, patients, and coworkers.
- Follows physicians' instructions precisely and complies with safety regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Accurately manages patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintains an organized and clean work environment, promoting safety for both patients and coworkers.
- Ensures the ACR toolkit is properly maintained and meets all accreditation requirements.
- Maintains equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting it after every use.
- Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Helps maintain the imaging protocol manual and assists with software upgrades as necessary.
- Tracks the medical supply inventory and requests additional supplies as needed.
- Supports the training of new associates by providing resources and technical expertise as required.
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform scanning procedures independently
