RAYUS Radiology, formerly the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of CT & C-arm Technologist within our team. The core responsibility of this role is to operate specific scanners to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. Through a patient-focused lens, the successful candidate will deliver scanning services in alignment with industry standards while upholding a high level of customer service. Patients seek answers when they come to our centers. As a Technologist, you play a crucial role in assisting patients by communicating kindly, walking them through the examination process, and addressing any concerns or queries they may have regarding the procedures. This part-time role (20-29 hours) involves working from 8 am to 4:30 pm with weekend rotations and no on-call requirements.
Fundamental duties and accountabilities:
(90%) Patient Imaging
- Preceding the examination, the patient is checked for any precautions or restrictions that are pertinent to the procedure, ensuring the accurate patient and exam criteria through the verification of two specific identifiers
- Educating and guiding patients on what to expect during imaging scans and medical injections, including explaining the procedure and ensuring proper positioning for accurate results
- Undertakes routine and advanced imaging scans and therapeutic injections on specific body areas to assist physicians in diagnosing and addressing patient illnesses and injuries, with limited oversight and a focus on patient reassurance through verbal interaction
- Makes appropriate modifications to scan parameters to ensure accuracy and adjusts them when necessary, incorporating techniques to lower radiation doses where applicable
- Ensures a positive attitude and harmonious interactions with radiologists, referring clients, and colleagues
- Precisely adhering to the recommendations of physicians and observing safety measures are fundamental in protecting oneself, patients, and colleagues
- Ensures the precise upkeep of patient information in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Keeps the work area clean and organized to support the development of safe practices for both patients and co-workers
- Manages ACR toolkit and accreditation demands
- Preserves the functionality of equipment; sanitizes and disinfects equipment post each utilization
- Ensures compliance with every aspect of HIPAA regulations
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Helps with the maintenance of an updated imaging protocol manual and upgrades for software
- Monitors the levels of medical supplies and submits requests for replenishment as deemed appropriate
- Guides and mentors new associates in their learning journey, offering expert insights and practical support
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- In possession of ARRT registration, maintaining active status with the organization
- Radiography program graduate endorsed by the American Medical Association (AMA)
- Holding the relevant state licensure as a Radiological Technologist, if it is a prerequisite
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) that is current
- The capability to perform scanning tasks independently necessitates a level of expertise gained through training and experience
