Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, previously recognized as the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is currently seeking a CT Technologist to join our group. Your task as a CT Technologist will be to utilize the allocated scanners to create images of the patient's body for diagnostic intent. Employing a patient-focused methodology, you will supply scanning services that meet professional requirements and offer exceptional customer assistance. Patients visit our facilities in search of solutions. You will support them through this occasionally daunting process by gently outlining the steps and resolving their inquiries and worries regarding examination processes and protocols.
This is a PRN/casual position working varying shifts, flexible schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
- Prior to the exam, the patient is evaluated to determine if there are any precautions or reasons that may affect the examination, with the use of two distinct patient identifiers to verify the correct patient and procedure
- Informing and guiding patients about upcoming imaging scans, clarifying the steps involved and arranging the patient's body in suitable positions for the scan
- Undertakes customary and intricate scanning imaging examinations on specified body regions to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient afflictions or trauma, with little supervision or duplication of scans, and delivers comfort to patients by maintaining communication during the procedure
- Adjusts scan parameters accurately and accordingly, employing techniques to lower radiation dose when necessary
- Sustains a favorable outlook and nurtures cooperative connections with radiologists, clients, and colleagues
- Strictly follows the instructions of doctors and abides by safety guidelines to safeguard oneself, patients, and fellow staff members
- Maintains accurate patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS) with attention to detail
- Upholds a well-maintained work area to cultivate positive safety practices for both patients and fellow staff members
- Manages the maintenance of the ACR toolkit and accreditation prerequisites
- Keeps equipment well-maintained to ensure its proper functionality; sanitizes and decontaminates equipment after every use
- Ensures that all HIPAA standards are being followed consistently
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Providing support for the management of an up-to-date imaging protocol guide and enhancements to software systems
- Manages the inventory of medical supplies and places orders when supplies are running low
- Aids in the onboarding of fresh recruits by providing resources and expertise in relevant areas
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- Holds a valid registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and is fully compliant
- Completed studies at a radiography school authorized by the American Medical Association (AMA)
- Radiological Technologist who holds a valid license in the relevant state, if required
- The possession of an up-to-date certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a crucial requirement for those seeking to have the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Competence in performing scanning tasks independently requires sufficient training and hands-on experience
