Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, previously Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to be a valuable addition to our team. The core responsibility of a CT Technologist at our facility is to operate designated scanners to capture images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. With a patient-centered approach, you will provide scanning services that adhere to professional standards and prioritize excellent customer service. Patients visit our centers in search of clarity, and your role will involve guiding them through the diagnostic process with empathy, explaining the procedures, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
This position is a per diem position, working Saturday, 8:00am-12:00pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
- In anticipation of the examination, the patient is screened for any precautions or contraindications, with two patient identifiers employed by the healthcare provider to confirm the accurate patient and procedure
- Explains and prepares patients for scanning imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
- Performs standard and advanced scanning imaging techniques on designated body areas to support physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses and injuries with minimal supervision or repetition of scans, and maintains patient comfort by engaging in conversation with them during the procedure
- Tweaks scanning scan parameters correctly and adjusts them accordingly, employing techniques to reduce the dose appropriately
- Maintains an optimistic approach and cultivates positive working relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and other associates
- Strictly adhering to physicians' instructions and complying with safety regulations are vital components in promoting a safe environment for both oneself and others
- Maintains detailed patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS) for reference
- Supports a safe working environment by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the workspace for the benefit of patients and colleagues
- Upholds ACR toolkit protocols and accreditation prerequisites
- Sustains equipment to be in good working condition; cleans and sanitizes equipment after each use
- Verifies that all protocols outlined in the HIPAA guidelines are being complied with
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Helps maintain an updated imaging protocol manual along with software updates
- Monitors the stock of medical supplies and submits requests for additional provisions as deemed necessary
- Helps in training new team members by sharing resources and utilizing technical expertise where needed
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform scanning procedures independently
- CT certification
