Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is seeking a CT Technologist to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating assigned scanners to capture diagnostic images of patients' bodies. Taking a patient-first approach, you'll provide high-quality scanning services while adhering to professional standards and offering exceptional customer service. Patients visit our centers seeking answers, and you'll support them throughout the process by calmly explaining each step and addressing any questions or concerns they may have about the procedures.
This is a PRN/casual position working varying shifts, flexible schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient CT Imaging
- Screens patients prior to the exam to identify any precautions or contraindications related to the procedure, using two patient identifiers to confirm the correct patient and procedure.
- Explains and prepares patients for the imaging procedures to be performed, clearly outlining the steps of the procedure and positioning them to ensure the correct areas of the body are captured effectively.
- Performs both routine and advanced imaging procedures on specific areas of the body to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses or injuries, requiring minimal supervision or repeat scans. During the procedure, provides ongoing patient support by communicating and reassuring patients throughout the process.
- Adjusts scan parameters accurately and as needed, applying dose reduction techniques when appropriate to ensure patient safety.
- Maintains a positive attitude and fosters strong working relationships with radiologists, referring physicians, customers, and colleagues.
- Follows physicians' orders accurately and adheres to safety regulations to ensure the protection of yourself, patients, and coworkers.
- Precisely manages patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Keeps the work area organized and clean, promoting safe practices for both patients and coworkers.
- Ensures the maintenance of the ACR toolkit and complies with accreditation requirements.
- Keeps equipment in proper working condition and cleans and disinfects it after each use.
- Ensures adherence to all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
(5%) Scanning Department Support
- Assists in keeping the imaging protocol manual up to date and supports software upgrades as needed.
- Monitors the medical supply inventory and requests additional supplies when needed.
- Assists in training new associates by offering resources and technical expertise as needed.
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform scanning procedures independently
