RAYUS Radiology, previously recognized as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is on the hunt for a new team member to serve as a Front Office Associate. By emphasizing the essential role of radiology in initial diagnoses and treatment procedures, we strive to challenge existing norms. Join us and contribute to a brighter future! The responsibilities of a Front Office Associate include managing patient communications, scheduling appointments, providing friendly and professional patient reception and registration, and completing any other assigned responsibilities. This role entails part-time hours during evenings across the week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(55%) Registration
- Extends greetings to clients attending imaging appointments; inputs demographic particulars and manages financial transactions for co-payments and installment options
- Responds to calls in a timely and amicable fashion
- Requests for assistance from center associates are in order
- Facilitates communication between technologists and patients awaiting examinations, ensuring messages about scanner availability and clinic-related updates are passed on effectively
- Manages front desk lobby space by organizing magazines, replenishing coffee essentials, and supporting overall office cleanliness
- Manages the ordering process for office supplies
- Manages the inventory of informative handouts for patients
- Encourages the use of electronic interfaces for imaging purposes
- Patients are reached through confirmation calls, and they are given instructions on how to prepare for their upcoming visits
- Provides requested faxes of reports, billing particulars, and medical consent forms
(20%) Insurance
- Verifies patient's insurance
- Confirms the approval of all exams with the patient's insurance carrier prior to scheduling
- Obtains insurance authorization
- Being familiar with insurance carriers such as Medicare and the procedures mandating waivers for authorization before scheduling appointments is key
- Coordinates the release of information requests to patients, referring offices, healthcare facilities, lawyers, and insurance firms based on prescribed guidelines
(20%) Scheduling
- Organizes transportation, interpreters, and accommodation arrangements for patients where suitable
- Begins the process of ordering exams for patients
- Confirms the consistency between orders and exam timetables
- Organizes the scheduling of necessary appointments and ensures correct authorizations are acquired
- Schedules walk-in patients
- Handles the coordination of image order and CD requests received from referring physicians and patients
- Maintains an accurate and timely database of current and potential referring healthcare providers
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- Acquiring a high school diploma or its equal qualification is a significant educational accomplishment
- Adeptness with Microsoft Office tools is a valuable skill that is highly sought after by employers
- 1-2 years of background in customer service roles
- Adept at working with computer systems and typing accurately
Preferred:
- History of employment in a medical clinic environment
- Terminology in healthcare and office backdrop
- Insurance knowledge
- Bilingual
