RAYUS Radiology is looking for an IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As an IT Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing IT support to end-users in a radiology healthcare environment, ensuring that medical professionals and staff have reliable access to critical desktop systems, software, and medical imaging platforms. This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm EST.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(25%) Medical Imaging Systems and End-User Support
- Provide timely and effective technical support to radiologists, technicians, and healthcare staff for all desktop, laptop, workstation and mobile device issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of radiology-specific software (e.g., PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), RIS (Radiology Information Systems).
- Ensure imaging devices are functioning correctly and accessible to end-users.
(40%) Hardware/Software Mgmt., Troubleshooting, Problem Resolution, System Maintenance &
Updates
- Support the installation, setup, and maintenance of desktop hardware (PCs, printers, scanners, etc.), operating systems (Windows, Apple/Android, etc.), and specialized radiology applications.
- Respond to and resolve IT issues related to desktop systems, networking, and medical imaging technology. Provide remote and on-site support when necessary.
- Monitor system performance and apply software patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure continued operation of both clinical and administrative systems.
- Work closely with the infrastructure and network teams to resolve system outages and network issues.
- Ensure optimal configuration of systems and workstations. Proper documentation of system access.
- Assist with inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals.
(15%) Documentation and Reporting/Incident and Request Management
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions provided, and any issues that may require escalation to higher-tier support teams.
- Utilize IT service management (ITSM) tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) to track and manage incidents, requests, and user complaints to ensure that all IT issues are resolved in a timely manner.
(10%) HIPAA Compliance
- Ensure that all desktop systems and medical imaging devices meet HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Maintain secure access to patient information, enforcing encryption standards, and ensuring proper documentation of system access.
(5%) User Training
- Conduct training for staff on the use of hardware and software tools, ensuring that all users can operate systems efficiently and securely.
