RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Mammography Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Mammography Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes-difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. This position is per diem, hours/shift will vary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient Mammography Imaging
- The patient is carefully screened for any potential precautions or contradictions relevant to the examination, and their identity and the procedure are double-checked using two distinct identifiers as a standard practice
- Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
- Carries out standard and intricate Mammography imaging scans on designated body areas to facilitate physicians in diagnosing and treating patient conditions independently, with minimal need for repeating scans. Maintains patient comfort and communication during the procedure
- Adequately changes the parameters of the mammography scan when needed, implementing dose reduction strategies as needed for optimal imaging results
- Maintains an optimistic attitude and supportive relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and colleagues
- Abides by physicians' instructions with precision and adheres to safety regulations to uphold the welfare of oneself, patients, and fellow healthcare workers
- - Updates and manages patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Supports maintaining a clean work area to instill good safety practices for both coworkers and patients
- Ensures alignment with the ACR toolkit and accreditation mandates
- Sustains the efficiency of equipment by performing upkeep tasks; sanitizes and cleans equipment after every use
- Guarantees that all HIPAA regulations are being complied with
(5%) Mammography Department Support
- Assists in the management of a modernized imaging protocol manual and software updates
- Supervises the inventory of healthcare supplies and initiates procurement orders when needed
- Supports the training of recently hired associates by offering expertise and resources when necessary
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform Mammography procedures independently
- Certification in imaging specialty
- Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
