*SSM Imaging in Bridgeton, MO, a partnership with RAYUS Radiology.*

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Mammography Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Mammography Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide Mammography services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient Mammography Imaging

  • A patient check is carried out before the examination to ascertain any precautions or contradictions related to the procedure, with two patient identifiers employed to confirm the right patient and procedure
  • - Prepares patients for mammography imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring they are positioned correctly for the examination
  • Performs standard and specialized mammography imaging procedures on designated body parts to aid physicians in diagnosing and managing patient illnesses or injuries with minimal supervision or the need for redundant scans, while engaging patients in conversation to provide emotional comfort throughout the process
  • Effectively manages mammography scan parameters and adjusts them correctly, implementing techniques to lower radiation dose as relevant
  • - Preserves a positive attitude and fosters productive relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and other team members
  • Adhere closely to physicians' orders and adhere to safety regulations to safeguard yourself, patients, and colleagues
  • Oversees the proper maintenance of patient documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Promotes a clean and structured work setting to cultivate safe habits for coworkers and patients alike
  • Oversees the implementation of ACR toolkit and accreditation prerequisites
  • Sustains equipment in proper working condition through routine upkeep; disinfects gear comprehensively after each instance of use
  • Sustains compliance with the entirety of HIPAA regulations and mandates

(5%) Mammography Department Support

  • Plays a role in maintaining a relevant imaging protocol manual and overseeing the installation of software upgrades
  • Supervises medical equipment stock and requests supplies when low
  • Assists in the education of new associates by providing resources and technical knowledge as appropriate

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform Mammography procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty
  • Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific

  • Bilingual
