Job Summary

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technician to join our flexible pool team. As a flex MRI Tech, you will go to our outpatient locations in the Twin Cities (near you) and work with a range of team members, radiologists, and equipment to expand your skill set. If you're interested in learning about MRI, I'm willing to teach you. This position is part-time (20-29 hours/week) working a variety of shifts, includes differential pay and mileage for this role (no call). 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(75%) Patient Imaging

  • Performs standard and sophisticated MRI operations on specific areas of the body for use by clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patient sickness and/or damage with minimal supervision or repetitions.
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
  • Prepares patients for MR procedures that will be performed, explaining the method, positioning patients so that the portions of the body can be adequately scanned, and providing patient support by talking to patients during the operation.
  • Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed
  • Maintains a pleasant attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers, associates, and peers.
  • Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required.
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkers
  • Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work environment while encouraging strong safety behaviors among patients and coworkers.

(20%) Imaging Support

  • Maintains equipment in proper working order by cleaning and disinfecting it after each use.
  • Monitors medical supply inventory
  • Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
  • Assists with maintaining an updated MRI protocol manual and software upgrades

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • ARMRIT or ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing

Preferred:

  • Bilingual
  • MR certification
