As a Mammography Technologist, you’ll operate assigned equipment to capture diagnostic images, delivering patient-centered care that meets professional standards. You’ll provide excellent customer service by guiding patients compassionately through the exam process, answering their questions, and easing any concerns.
This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient Mammography Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
- Prepares and explains mammography procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the process and positioning them correctly for accurate imaging of the targeted body areas.
- Independently performs routine and advanced mammography imaging on specified body areas to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illness or injury, minimizing repeat scans. Provides continuous patient support by communicating throughout the procedure.
- Adjusts Mammography scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate
- Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Keeps the work area and equipment clean and organized, promoting safe practices for patients and coworkers.
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Mammography Department Support
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Supports training of new associates by offering resources and technical expertise when needed.
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
