RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is currently seeking a qualified MRI Technologist to join our team. As we challenge conventional norms within the radiology field, we are redefining its essential role in the diagnostic process and subsequent treatment planning. In the role of an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI scanners to produce images of patients for diagnostic purposes. Emphasizing a patient-focused approach, you will conduct MRI services proficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. Patients undergoing imaging procedures often have concerns and uncertainties; hence, part of your role will involve comforting and assisting them by explaining the examination steps and addressing any questions they may have.

This is a per diem position working varying day shifts throughout the week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

  • Screening the patient for any precautions or contradictions regarding the examination is done before the procedure, with a double check on the patient's identity and the specific procedure
  • Duties encompass clarifying and getting patients ready for MRI examinations, aligning their positioning to facilitate accurate body scans
  • Executes routine and advanced MRI tests on designated body parts to support physicians in diagnosing and addressing patient illnesses or injuries with minimal supervision or unnecessary repetition of scans, while providing patient encouragement through verbal communication during the scan
  • Adjusts MRI imaging specifications correctly according to the situation
  • Ensures a positive attitude and nurtures effective working partnerships with radiologists, referring clients, and colleagues
  • Strictly adhere to physicians' instructions and comply with safety measures to ensure the well-being of yourself, patients, and fellow staff members
  • Keeps patient information updated in the Radiology Information System (RIS) with precision
  • Promoting safety among patients and coworkers by keeping the work area orderly and hygienic
  • Adheres to the ACR toolkit guidelines and accreditation criteria
  • Preserves the maintenance of equipment; disinfects and cleans equipment after each utilization
  • Maintains compliance with the entirety of the HIPAA guidelines

(5%) MRI Department Support

  • Aids in the management of a current imaging protocol handbook and the integration of software enhancements
  • Tracks medical equipment inventory levels and submits requisitions for replenishment when needed
  • Supports the training of recently hired associates by sharing valuable resources and technical skills, as relevant

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • A technologist registered with ARRT, presently practicing, and in a favorable standing
  • Alumnus of a radiography institution endorsed by the American Medical Association (AMA)
  • Authorized Radiological Technologist in states where licensure is mandatory
  • It is vital to maintain a valid CPR certification for emergency preparedness
  • Competence in performing MRI procedures without assistance requires proper training and hands-on experience
  • Certification for imaging expertise

Preferred:

  • Bilingual
