Job Summary

RAYUS Radiology, formerly recognized as the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is currently seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. Our aim is to challenge existing norms in radiology by emphasizing its essential role in the early stages of diagnosis and subsequent treatment strategies. In the capacity of an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for running the designated scanner(s) to produce images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. With a patient-focused mindset, you will provide MRI services in alignment with professional norms and offering excellent customer service. Patients visit our facilities with queries in mind. Your role involves supporting them through this occasionally challenging experience by verbally walking them through the process and resolving their queries and worries about the examination procedures. This is a per diem position working varying shifts throughout the week and weekend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

  • To ensure the accurate patient and procedure, a pre-exam screening is performed to identify any precautions or contradictions that may be relevant to the examination, using two patient identifiers
  • Describes and gets patients ready for MRI tests by clarifying the procedure and positioning them correctly for accurate body scans
  • Performs standard and complex MRI procedures on designated body parts to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses and injuries autonomously, without the need for repetitive scanning, and offers patient encouragement through verbal communication throughout the examination
  • Makes appropriate modifications to MRI scan parameters as necessary
  • Ensures a positive attitude and cultivates harmonious relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and colleagues
  • Strictly adhering to the directives of doctors and following safety regulations is necessary to ensure the safety of oneself, patients, and colleagues
  • Manages patient records effectively within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Promotes good safety practices by maintaining a clean and organized workspace for everyone's benefit
  • Ensures that the ACR toolkit is maintained in accordance with accreditation standards
  • Sustains equipment in good working condition; cleans and sterilizes equipment after every use
  • Making sure that all HIPAA requirements are being met to prevent any violations

(5%) MRI Department Support

  • Aids in keeping the imaging protocol manual current and ensuring software upgrades are applied
  • Tracks medical supplies on hand and submits requests for replenishment as deemed necessary
  • Supports the onboarding process for new team members, providing expertise and resources when necessary

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty

  • Bilingual
