RAYUS Radiology, formerly referred to as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is currently in search of an MRI Technologist to add value to our team. The MRI Technologist role involves operating assigned MRI scanners to create diagnostic images of patients' bodies. Through a patient-focused approach, you will deliver MRI services in accordance with professional standards and exceptional customer care. Patients seek clarity when they visit our facilities, and part of your responsibility will be to guide them through the MRI process, communicate clearly with them, and address any concerns they may have about the examination procedures.
This position is full-time, working day shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Pre-examination, a thorough assessment is carried out to check for any precautions or contraindications relevant to the procedure, with the patient's identity and procedure confirmed through two specific identifiers
- Prepares patients for MRI examinations by explaining the process and ensuring their bodies are positioned correctly for accurate imaging
- Carries out standard and intricate MRI scans on designated body regions to support physicians in identifying and treating patient conditions effectively, operating independently and avoiding unnecessary rescans, while ensuring patient well-being by conversing with them throughout the examination
- Makes necessary alterations to MRI scan parameters for optimal results
- Ensures a positive attitude is upheld while fostering productive relationships with radiologists, clients, and colleagues
- Complies meticulously with healthcare providers' instructions and upholds safety measures to protect oneself, patients, and peers
- Upkeeps patient documentation effectively in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Ensures a neat and orderly workspace to cultivate a culture of safety for coworkers and patients
- Oversees the ACR toolkit and its alignment with accreditation standards and guidelines
- Preserves the equipment's functionality through routine maintenance practices; sanitizes and disinfects the equipment after every use
- Ensures that all requirements of HIPAA guidelines are met consistently
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Ensures the imaging protocol manual is current and assists with software upgrades
- Tracks the levels of medical supplies and initiates requests for additional items as necessary
- Supports the learning curve of incoming team members through the provision of guidance and relevant technical skills
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- A Technologist who holds ARRT registration, currently in good standing
- Successfully finished training at an American Medical Association (AMA) endorsed radiography institution
- Qualified Radiology Specialist in the appropriate region, if applicable
- Regularly updated CPR certification is vital for responding effectively in cardiac emergencies
- Adequate training and experience are essential for the independent execution of MRI procedures
- Imaging specialization credential
