Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As an MRI Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. This is a per-diem position, generally working Saturdays and Sundays and is located at our Woodbridge, VA center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Confirms the patient's identity and assesses for any potential risks or contradictions associated with the examination, utilizing two identifiers as a safety measure
- Educating patients about MRI scans and positioning them correctly are crucial steps in the preparation process for the procedure
- Conducts routine and intricate MRI procedures on specified body areas independently to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patient illness and injury effectively, with little supervision or the need for repeated scans, all while providing patient reassurance through ongoing communication
- Modifies MRI scan parameters accurately and as required for each scan
- Ensures a positive attitude and nurtures working relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and peers
- Complying closely with doctors' orders and adhering to safety protocols is necessary to ensure the safety of oneself, patients, and colleagues
- Ensures the accurate upkeep of patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS) for comprehensive documentation
- Encourages a culture of safety by keeping the work area orderly and clean for the well-being of patients and coworkers
- Upholds ACR toolkit regulations and accreditation essentials
- Maintains the operational status of equipment; sanitizes and disinfects equipment following each use
- Ensures that all actions align with the requirements of HIPAA regulations
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Supports with the maintenance of a revised imaging protocol manual and improvements to software systems
- Maintains oversight of medical equipment inventory levels and submits supply requests as necessary
- Assisting in training new associates by providing guidance and technical expertise, when relevant
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
- Certification in imaging specialty
