RAYUS Radiology, previously known as the Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is currently on the hunt for an MRI Technologist to join their team. As an MRI Technologist, your role will involve operating scanners assigned to you to obtain body images of patients for diagnostic purposes. You will provide these services with professional standards, excellent customer service, and a patient-centered approach. You will be expected to guide patients through the imaging process while answering their questions and concerns about the exam and procedure.
This position is per diem, hours and shift will vary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
- Before the MRI, the assistance is responsible for ensuring that the patient is dressed appropriately and has removed any metal jewelry or accessories that may interfere with the procedure. Additionally, they would ensure that patients who are anxious are informed of any sedation or calming medications that are available to them
- Performs MRI scans of specified body regions for diagnostic and treatment purposes with little supervision, using both basic and sophisticated techniques. This role also involves providing emotional support to patients through conversation throughout the procedure
- Adjusts MRI scan parameters appropriately to achieve desired results
- Ensures an optimistic approach and harmonious associations with radiologists, clients who provide recommendations and fellow team members
- Stick to the physician's prescribed course of action with precision and abide by safety rules to guarantee the safety of yourself, your patients, and your team
- Keeps an updated and comprehensive database of patient records from Radiology Information System (RIS) software
- Maintains a neat and orderly workspace, prioritizing the safety of both patients and fellow staff
- Upholding the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements is crucial for medical facilities to maintain their reputation and credibility in the industry, as they demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care
- Ensures that all equipment is maintained effectively; sanitizes every piece after use to prevent contamination
- All HIPAA requirements are being duly followed
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
- Certification in imaging specialty
