RAYUS Radiology, formerly known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is seeking an MRI Technologist to join our team. We are revolutionizing radiology by making it a pivotal first step in diagnosis and treatment. Join us and shine brighter together! As an MRI Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. With a patient-centered approach, you will provide MRI services adhering to professional standards and exceptional customer service. Patients rely on us for answers, and you will help guide them through the process, addressing their questions and concerns about exam procedures. This is a per-diem position, generally working Saturdays and Sundays and is located at our Woodbridge, VA center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient MRI Imaging (90%)

  • Screen patients before exams for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and explain MRI procedures to patients, positioning them appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures for physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries, providing patient support throughout.
  • Adjust MRI scan parameters as needed.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keep the work area orderly and clean, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting it after each use.
  • Comply with all HIPAA guidelines.

MRI Department Support (5%)

  • Help maintain an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
  • Assist in training new associates, providing technical expertise as needed.

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Sufficient training and experience to perform MRI procedures independently.
  • Certification in imaging specialty.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual.
