RAYUS Radiology seeks an MRI Technologist in Training to join their team. The company, focused on improving radiology's role in diagnosis and treatment, encourages applicants to join their mission. Under supervision, the MRI Technologist in Training will operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images. Prioritizing patient care, the trainee will provide excellent customer service, explain procedures, and address patient concerns in a compassionate manner. This full-time position (39 hours/week) requires availability for days, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging with Supervision
- Prior to each MRI scan, the technologist in training will verify the patient's identity using two separate identifiers and screen them for any potential risks or contraindications to ensure patient safety and the correct procedure is performed.
- The technologist in training will explain the MRI procedure to patients, including what they can expect. They will also properly position patients on the scanner for optimal imaging and provide patient support by communicating with them throughout the scan.
- The technologist in training will conduct routine MRI scans of specific body areas, generating diagnostic images for physicians to use in patient diagnosis and treatment. This will be done with minimal supervision and a low rate of rescans, while maintaining patient comfort and communication throughout the procedure.
- Performs advanced MRI procedures with support and under supervision
- Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
- Maintains positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers and other associates and peers
- The technologist in training will strictly adhere to physicians' orders and comply with all safety regulations to ensure the well-being of themselves, patients, and colleagues.
- Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
- Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements
Required:
- ARRT or ARMRIT registered technologist dependent on State regulations and business needs, current and in good standing within two months of hire by passing RT boards
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Within the first 18 months of employment you must:
- Obtain training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
- Obtain certification in imaging specialty
Preferred:
- Bilingual
