Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process. This is a temporary/casual position working a flexible Saturday rotation (no call).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- The screening of patients prior to the examination is a critical step in ensuring that any precautions or contradictions are identified and addressed to optimize the safety and efficacy of the procedure
- Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
- Undertakes standard and complex MRI procedures on designated body segments to aid physicians in diagnosing and managing patient illnesses and injuries with minimal supervision, avoiding the need for repetitive scanning, and providing patient comfort by conversing throughout the procedure
- Ensures MRI scan parameters are tailored accurately to the situation
- Preserves a constructive attitude and fosters positive working relationships with radiologists, referring clients, and coworkers
- Comply rigorously with physicians' directives and safety regulations to uphold the safety of yourself, patients, and coworkers
- Preserves precise patient information within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Advocates for the importance of a neat and orderly work area in instilling safe habits for both patients and coworkers
- Follows ACR toolkit protocols and accreditation prerequisites
- Preserves the working order of equipment; cleanses and disinfects machinery after every use
- Ensuring that all HIPAA rules are followed is necessary
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Assists in maintaining a contemporary imaging protocol manual alongside software upgrades
- Maintains oversight of medical supply inventory and seeks replenishment as appropriate
- Plays a role in guiding and training new associates, providing expertise and resources as necessary
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
Preferred:
- Certification in imaging specialty
- Bilingual
