Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, formed from the merger of Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, seeks an MRI Technologist. The company aims to enhance radiology's role in diagnosis and treatment. The MRI Technologist will operate MRI scanners, producing diagnostic images while providing leadership and technical support for MRI services. This includes ensuring services meet professional standards and delivering excellent customer service. The technologist will guide patients through the often-challenging process, explaining procedures and addressing their concerns. A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in the field is essential. This is a per diem position with variable shifts.
This is a Temporary/PRN position working, Monday-Friday with possible Saturday day/evening shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(80%) Patient Imaging
- The MRI Technologist will perform both routine and complex MRI scans of specified body areas, producing high-quality diagnostic images for physicians to use in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses or injuries. This will be done with minimal supervision and a low rate of rescans.
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination
- The MRI technologist will prepare patients for their MRI scans by explaining the procedure and properly positioning them on the scanner to ensure accurate imaging of the targeted body areas.
- Adjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed
- The MRI technologist will foster positive and collaborative relationships with radiologists, referring physicians' offices, colleagues, and peers.
- Converses with doctors, nurses, patients and family members as required
- Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, patients, and coworkers
- Maintains accurate patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(15%) Department Support
- Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
- Assists with maintaining an updated MRI protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory
- Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- ARRT advanced MR certification
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Training and experience sufficient to competently perform MR and/or radiographic procedures independently
