RAYUS Radiology, formerly known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is in search of an MRI Technologist who can be part of their team. The company aims to pave the way for radiology to be recognized as a crucial initial diagnostic test that can lead to proper treatment. This will be a chance to do more together and contribute to providing reliable healthcare. In this role, you will operate an assigned scanner to create images of the patient's body for diagnosis. The primary objective is to provide excellent customer service with a patient-centric approach while maintaining professional standards. Patients who seek our services are looking for answers, and we believe that with your skills and expertise, you can guide them through the process with kindness and compassion, reassuring them and answering any questions or concerns they may have regarding examination procedures. This is a per diem position, and working hours or shifts may vary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient MRI Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
- aligned with the MRI machine and the use of contrast agents when necessary. The aim is to give the patient an accurate understanding of what they can expect during the procedure so that they can be as comfortable as possible. Furthermore, it also helps the MRI technician to acquire high-quality images without interruptions from the patient due to unfamiliarity with the procedure
- Carries out standard MRI scans and complex MRI procedures for specific regions of the body which physicians can utilize to detect and cure patient sickness or injuries with minimal supervision. Additionally, they comfort patients by engaging in conversation during the scanning process
- Modifies the settings for the MRI scan appropriately, according to the patient's condition and tolerance
- Develops and maintains constructive relationships with radiologists, referring clients and other colleagues while upholding a positive demeanor
- Adheres strictly to the instructions of doctors and complies with safety measures to safeguard oneself, clients, and colleagues
- The Radiology Information System (RIS) is used to maintain accurate patient records in radiology
- The promotion of safe habits for patients and colleagues is encouraged by keeping a well-organized and hygienic work environment
- The ACR toolkit and accreditation requisites are upheld to the highest standard by our organization
- Ensures equipment remains in excellent condition; sterilizes and cleans equipment after every use
- All standards and regulations of HIPAA guidelines shall be strictly adhered to in order to ensure compliance with these guidelines
(5%) MRI Department Support
- Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
- Certification in imaging specialty
