The pay range for this position is $27.84- $49.96 based on direct and relevant experience.

As an MRI Technologist, your main task is to operate the designated scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. With a patient-centered mindset, you will administer MRI services following professional standards and delivering exceptional customer service. Patients visit our facilities in search of answers, and you will assist them in navigating this potentially challenging process by kindly explaining the steps and addressing any questions or concerns they may have about the examination procedures. This role is on a per-diem basis, with shifts that can vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

  • Prior to the examination, the patient is screened for any precautions or contradictions specific to the procedure, with two patient identifiers cross-checked to ensure correct patient matching and procedure accuracy
  • Patients are briefed and positioned correctly for MRI procedures to ensure they understand the process and to allow for accurate imaging of specific body parts
  • Conducts regular and advanced MRI examinations on specified body sections independently to aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patient ailments with minimal oversight, minimizing the requirement for rescans and ensuring patient comfort by engaging in dialogue throughout the procedure
  • Adjusts MRI scan parameters with precision and as dictated by the situation
  • Ensures a positive demeanor and builds constructive connections with radiologists, referring clientele, and colleagues
  • Ensuring strict compliance with doctors' orders and safety regulations is essential in order to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers
  • Safeguards the integrity of patient data in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Supporting safety initiatives by upholding cleanliness and orderliness in the work environment for both patients and colleagues
  • Ensures conformity with accreditation mandates via the ACR toolkit
  • Preserves the upkeep of equipment; sterilizes and disinfects equipment after each use
  • Adheres to all HIPAA guidelines to guarantee regulatory compliance

(5%) MRI Department Support

  • Assists in managing an imaging protocol manual that is kept current, alongside implementing software enhancements
  • Monitors the status of medical supply inventory and submits requests for additional items when needed
  • Assists with the instruction of newcomers, providing tools and technical know-how as needed

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Requirements

Required:

  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform MRI procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty
