Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, formerly the Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is currently looking for a DTI Technologist to join their team. The main function of the DTI Technologist is to operate the assigned scanner(s) to create images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. A patient-centered approach is vital in this role, along with delivering DTI services in line with professional standards and offering outstanding customer service. Patients visit our centers seeking clarity, and your role will involve assisting them through this potentially daunting process by calmly explaining the steps, addressing their inquiries, and easing any worries they may have regarding the examination processes. This is a casual position working various day shifts Monday-Friday (flexible schedule).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient DTI Imaging
- Screening of the patient is performed to identify any necessary precautions or contradictions that could affect the examination, with particular attention given to confirming the patient's identity and the relevant procedure through the verification of two patient identifiers
- Describing and getting patients ready for DTI imaging exams by explaining the process and positioning them for precise imaging of body structures
- Performs scheduled and complex DTI imaging procedures on specified body regions to aid physicians in diagnosing and managing patient illnesses and injuries independently, avoiding the need for repeated scans, and offering emotional support to patients by communicating with them throughout the process
- Precisely fine-tunes DTI scan settings and modifies them as appropriate, utilizing dose reduction tactics effectively
- Preserves a constructive approach and facilitates positive interactions with radiologists, referring clientele, and other associates
- Following medical directives accurately and adhering to safety standards is vital for the well-being of oneself, patients, and coworkers
- Maintains precise patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS) consistently
- Demonstrates a commitment to tidiness and organization in the workspace to encourage safe habits for co-workers and patients
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards through ACR toolkit oversight
- Ensures equipment longevity through diligent maintenance practices; sanitizes equipment after each use for cleanliness
- Makes certain that all rules and regulations within the HIPAA guidelines are being adhered to
(5%) DTI Department Support
- Assists with the upkeep of the imaging protocol handbook and software updates for improved functionality
- Maintains oversight of medical equipment inventory and prompts supply restocking when needed
- - Provides help with the training of new associates by offering expertise and resources as necessary
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform DTI procedures independently
