RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to join our team. We’re challenging the status quo by positioning radiology as the essential first step in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together!

As a Scheduling Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting patients and referring providers by answering phone calls, managing incoming faxes, and scheduling appointments efficiently and accurately.

This is a temporary/PRN position with varied shifts, offering flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a team that puts patient care first.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(85%) Scheduling

  • Answers phones and handles calls in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintains positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices and staff
  • Schedules patient examinations according to existing company policy
  • Ensures that all necessary personal, financial, and insurance information is collected and accurately documented.
  • Ensures all patient data is entered into information systems completely and accurately
  • Ensures patients are advised of financial responsibilities, appropriate clothing, preparation kits, transportation and/or eating prior to appointment
  • Communicates to technologists any scheduling changes in order to ensure highest patient satisfaction
  • Maintains a current and accurate database of all existing and prospective referring physicians.
  • Handles overflow calls for other centers within market to ensure uninterrupted exam scheduling for referring offices
  • Provides back up coverage for front office staff as requested by supervisor (i.e., rest breaks, vacations and sick leave)
  • Answers calls from the 1-800 number and directs them to the appropriate department or team member (St. Louis Park location only).

(10%) Insurance

  • Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company as required
  • Verifies insurance for same day add-ons
  • Applies knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare) and identifies procedures requiring waivers to secure necessary authorizations prior to the scheduled appointment.

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
