RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. We’re redefining radiology by emphasizing its crucial role as the first step in diagnosis and effective treatment. Join us and shine brighter together! As a Sonographer, you will operate assigned ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images. With a patient-centered focus, you’ll deliver sonography services that meet professional standards while providing excellent customer care. Patients come to us seeking answers, and you’ll support them by gently guiding them through the process and addressing their questions and concerns. This is a temporary/PRN role with variable shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient Sonography Imaging
- Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
- Explains and prepares patients for sonography imaging procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately
- Conducts routine and advanced sonographic imaging on specific body areas to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating illnesses or injuries, with minimal supervision and few repeat scans. Provides ongoing patient support by communicating with patients throughout the procedure.
- Adjusts Sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed
- Adheres strictly to physicians’ orders, complies with safety regulations, and accurately updates patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area including equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
(5%) Sonography Department Support
- Helps keep the imaging protocol manual current and supports software upgrade processes.
- Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
- Assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
