RAYUS Radiology, previously known as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is in the market for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join their ranks. The role involves performing scans using dedicated equipment to capture images of the patient's anatomy for diagnostic purposes. Ensuring a patient-centric approach, the Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist will conduct Ultrasound services in adherence to professional standards while ensuring exceptional customer experiences. Patients rely on our facilities to uncover answers, and the incumbent will serve as a supportive guide throughout the process, offering explanations and resolving any queries or apprehensions concerning the examination procedures and protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(90%) Patient Ultrasound Imaging
- Screening the patient before the examination aims to identify any precautions or contradictions that could affect the procedure, and two patient identifiers are utilized to verify the correct patient and procedure
- Providing patients with an understanding of the Ultrasound imaging process and positioning them correctly helps in preparing them for the upcoming procedures
- Conducts routine and advanced ultrasound examinations on targeted body parts to facilitate the diagnosis and management of patient ailments and injuries, requiring minimal supervision and repetition of scans. Offers patient reassurance and communication during the imaging process
- Correctly modifies ultrasound scan parameters when needed
- Ensures a optimistic attitude and cultivates strong working relationships with radiologists, clients in need of referrals, and other coworkers and associates
- Strictly follow the orders given by medical professionals and adhere to safety measures to protect yourself, patients, and coworkers
- Maintains precise patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Supports the maintenance of a neat and orderly work environment to enhance safety practices for coworkers and patients
- Manages adherence to ACR toolkit protocols and accreditation standards
- Sustains the proper working order of equipment through routine maintenance checks; decontaminates equipment after each use
- Complies with the requirements specified in the HIPAA guidelines
- Consistently arranges scans for interpretation by the radiologist, confirming correct film processing, comprehensive clinical context, and previous x-rays provided for potential correlation
- Follows the prescribed guidelines to ensure standard precautions and infection control policy standards are upheld
(5%) Ultrasound Department Support
- Supports in maintaining an up-to-date manual for imaging protocols and upgrades to software
- Monitors the availability of medical supplies and places orders as needed
- Plays a role in familiarizing newcomers with the job through sharing expertise and providing necessary resources
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- A technologist who holds ARDMS registration, currently valid and in good order
- Achieved graduation from an American Medical Association (AMA) endorsed radiography educational institution
- Possessing a valid license as a Radiological Technologist in the state where it is mandated
- RT, RMT, or ARDMS certification is a valuable asset for those pursuing a career in medical imaging
- In the context of OSHA regulations, Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens refers to scenarios where individuals are highly likely to be exposed to infectious materials that can cause harm
- The necessity of maintaining an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is crucial
- The individual must possess the necessary training and expertise to effectively execute Ultrasound tests on their own
- Certification for specialized imaging techniques
